Obituary for Veda Eldora Hoover
Veda was born on May 15, 1933 in Ramah, CO and passed away September 11, 2008 in Bakersfield, CA. She married William Henry Hoover on May 24, 1952 in San Diego, CA. They lived and farmed in Rush, CO until 1969 when the family moved to Shafter, CA. Veda worked at Richland School District as a cafeteria baker retiring in 1992. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of her church. She enjoyed cross-stitch, canning, gardening with her husband and spending time with her family.
She was… preceded in death by both of her parents Earl and Grace West, brother Harold and sister-in-law, Lynn. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years and their seven children, son Raymond Hoover and wife Carmen; daughters, Leanne Mead and husband Jeff; Anita Tripp and husband Wade; (Martha) Ellen Gross and husband Ron; Juanita Sullivan and husband Lonnie; son Ralph Hoover and wife, Julie; daughter Bonnie Hoover; 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald West, Floyd West and wife Audrey, sister Alice Jacobs and husband Larry; many other family, and a whole host of friends who will miss her.
Also a special thank you to Hoffman Hospice whose care and support helped to make saying good-bye a little easier.
Viewing at Peters Funeral Home, 844 E. Lerdo Hwy. Shafter, CA on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm. Burial will be at the Shafter Cemetary on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 10:00 am with Memorial Service to follow at North Heights Baptist Church 3960 N. Chester, Bakersfield, CA.
