Robert Ruiz was born in San Jose, CA, on June 6, 1942, to Vicente and Eufracia (Perez) Ruiz. Proud parents were growing with one brother and 5 sisters; Joe, Beatrice, Connie, Vivian, Estella and Helen. Robert met Andrea and married in 1969. Their family grew by having first son, Robert Jr., then Michael, Rosemary and youngest Victor Ruiz. Since then, son Victor Ruiz passed away in April of 1999, and wife Andrea Ruiz passed away July of 2005. Robert, Sr. was a great father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend. He worked hard but always had time for his family. Robert, Sr. leaves behind sons, Robert, Jr. and wife Michele Ruiz of Riverside, Michael and wife Alma Ruiz of Bakersfield, daughter, Rosemary and husband GabinoTorres of Shafter, and grandchildren, Robert III, Ryan, Rick, Breanna, Michael, Jr., Alexis, Joseph, Arianna and Yasmine. Also surviving are sisters, Beatrice of Louisiana, Vivian of Bakersfield, Connie, Estella and Helen , all of Wasco. He also had many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews that he loved deeply. Robert Ruiz, Sr. will be greatly missed. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held Thursday, March 1, 7pm, at St. Therese’s Catholic Church in Shafter, and Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, March 2, 10am, also at St. Therese’s Catholic Church.
