Phyllis Spolsdoff 2806178Phyllis George Spolsdoff was born September 7, 1935 in Bakersfield, California to Anna (Slivkoff) and George Chernabaeff, one of four children. Phyllis was a life-long resident of Wasco, attending Wasco elementary schools and graduating from Wasco Union High School with the Class of 1953. After graduating, she married Paul Spolsdoff on August 23, 1953 in Kerman, California. Phyllis was a patient and honorably spirited being with a gentle, unselfish soul, who was blessed with a strong motherly instinct. She kept her family closely bonded to her beautiful and loving heart. "I lived a life of fulfillment with no regrets," Phyllis Spolsdoff.
Among other things, Phyllis admired plants and flowers and expressed this passion through gardening. Also, she enjoyed family gatherings where she enjoyed playing board games and cooking favorite and delicious meals. Her favorites were Mexican food and her wonderful crepes. Phyllis loved her grandchildren and was a wonderful mother and loving, dedicated, loyal and devoted wife. Phyllis was a “Sherlock Holmes” always able to find out what her children were doing, good or bad. She enjoyed going to play bunko with friends, was active with the Wasco Festival of Roses and was a member of the Rose Society.
Phyllis was married with her husband for 61 years, Paul Spolsdoff of Wasco; sons, Paul Spolsdoff, Jr. of Wasco, George Spolsdoff & wife LouAnn of Los Angeles and Alex Spolsdoff of Shafter; daughter, Tanya Spolsdoff of Wasco; brothers, George Chernabaeff and Dennis Chernabaeff; sister, Tanya Koretoff; 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Fenya, Lisa, Alexandra, Michael, David, Pavel and Nico; and 10 great grandchildren.
A prayer service was held at the Russian Molokan Church in Shafter beginning on Sunday, November 16, at 4pm followed by a graveside service on Monday, November 17, at 11am at Shafter Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Wasco.
