Obituary for Marcie Maldonado Rodriguez

Marcie Maldonado Rodriguez was born in Wasco, Ca. on June 14, 1981, to parents Cain and Connie Maldonado. She attended local schools and graduated from Shafter High in 1999. In high school Marcie was active in Cheerleading and Jr. Miss; after high school she continued her support for the Jr. Miss program behind the scenes. Our family will always remember her loving, generous spirit. Marcie felt a calling to give greatly of herself. She really loved her work with the Special Education program… at Shafter High School, working with those who had severe disabilities, but she also enjoyed her time assisting with Youth Ministries, VBS programs and serving on the Worship Team at Westside Family Fellowship, where she has been a member for many years. Marcie loved the Lord, and she lived unashamed of her faith. Her positivity was infectious and she had a way of loving those she had just met because she had such a big heart. She was also sassy and funny; her sense of humor and love will be missed greatly. Marcie fought bravely.
Marcie is preceded in death by her sister, Melinda Maldonado; nephew, Jordan Serafin Ybarra; her grandfather, Jesus Ramirez, grandparents Francisco and Consuelo Maldonado. She is survived by her husband, Luis A. Rodriguez Jr.; son, Ezra Kane Rodriguez; parents, Cain and Connie Maldonado; sister, Myra Maldonado; brother Matthew Maldonado, and his wife Dovie, grandparents, Carolina Ramirez; and her nieces and nephews, Crystal, Jasmine, Toni, Trinity, Malia, Jude, Daelyn, Micah, Jessica and Alex.
Our courageous princess passed away July 20, 2016 in Shafter, Ca. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled at Westside Family Fellowship in Wasco, on July 28, 2016 beginning at 7:00pm.
Our family would like to express our gratitude to all of the many nurses and doctors that gave Marcie such great care throughout these last 14 months; you were truly a blessing and we will never forget the love that you have shown us. Also, a huge thanks to our family, friends, church, and community for the outpouring of love and support. Psalms 91
