Aurelia Nunez, 71, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Bakersfield Heart Hospital in Bakersfield, Ca. She was born on November 8, 1948 in Weslaco, Texas to Manuel and Maria Piedad Acevedo.
Aurelia married Jesus Nunez in 1973. They were happily married for 46 years. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed spending time tending to her plants and flowers and chatting with her love ones. Aurelia truly had a heart of gold and would share it with anyone and everyone. Aurelia passed away after a long illness. She was surrounded by family and friends.
Aurelia is survived by her husband Jesus Nunez, and five children: Francisca, Juan, Fidel, Jesus Jr. and Ismael; grandchildren; Celeste, Francisco Jr., Gabriel, Daniel, Seleesa, LillieAnn, Elizabeth, Emmanuel, Rosemarie, Kristin, Stephen, Bailei, Andrew, and Priscilla.
A visitation and Rosary service will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care in Shafter, 343 St. Avenue at 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, November 24, 2019. Rosary will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Catholic service will be held at St. Theresa Church in Shafter, 300 W Lerdo Hwy at 10:00 am Monday, November 25, 2019. Burial will follow the service at Shafter Cemetery.
