Felix Carrasco Obituary

Felix B. Carrasco, a Kern County Resident for 69 years, was born in Colorado City, TX, on April 9, 1927, the son of Patricio and Francisca Carrasco. He grew up in Midland, TX where he attended local schools. He worked as a life underwriter until his retirement. Felix moved to Bakersfield in 1972. He was a veteran of the US. Army, World War II. After discharge from the Army, he moved to Shafter where he resided many years. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Carrasco was a long-time member of St. Therese's Catholic Church in Shafter, and later joined St. Philip Catholic Church in Bakersfield. He was an active member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. He passed away at home in Bakersfield on July 4, 2016.

The survivors include his wife of over 67 years, Sarah P. Carrasco of Bakersfield; his daughter, Carolyn Carrasco of Bakersfield; his son and wife, Kenneth F. and Marika Carrasco of Sherman Oaks, CA; four brothers, Rosendo of Shafter, and Bibano, Moises, and Luciano, all of Bakersfield; two sisters, Consuelo Gonzalez of Shafter and Benita Chavez of Ventura; and grandchildren Tristan Wieser, Sandor, Krisz, and Kriszta Carrasco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 15th. at St. Philip Catholic Church, at 1:00 pm., preceded by viewing at 12:30 pm. also at St. Philip. Rev. Msgr. Ronald J. Swett will be the celebrant, and burial at Shafter Memorial Park will follow the Mass. The Kern County Associated Veterans will be extending military honors at the cemetery.
