Mary Ann Sedillo was born April 3, 1959 in Roswell New Mexico to Mary Ann (Hernandez) and Jose A. Sedillo. Mary Ann came to Kern County at the age of five, she attended Shafter Schools and Shafter High School. She has always been in retail sales, Apple Market, A-1 Superette and most recent employer was Manny’s Discount Store. She had a lot of love in her heart, dedicated her entire life to both her children, giving them the fundamentals of life in order for them to be independent for when this day came. She was extremely neat, clean and organized; always made ends meet, very frugal and made due with what she had. Mary Ann recently gave her life to the Lord at Valley Bible Fellowship in Bakersfield, where she loved to worship. Her grandchildren, Alexya and Daniel III will always remember their “Okie Gramma” who loved them dearly and greeted them with open arms and a beautiful smile.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by both of her parents; brother Leroy Sedillo (11/2003) and long time companion Daniel Rodriguez, Sr (10/2003). She is survived by her son, Daniel Rodriguez Jr. and his wife Yehimi of Shafter; daughter, Denise and her husband Jaime Marquez of Bakersfield; grandchildren Alexya and Daniel Rodriguez III; sisters, Rosa Gonzalez of Shafter, Jane Eoff of Arkansas, Josie Mendoza of Shafter and Barbara Dearing of Japan; sister-in-law Sandy Sedillo; her very “special Aunt” Tillie Alvarado of Shafter; many loving and caring nieces and nephews along with numerous, numerous friends.
Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held for Mary Ann Sedillo, age 50, Friday, May 15, 2009 – 10 am at Shafter Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Ratliff, of Valley Bible Fellowship in Bakersfield, officiating. Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Shafter on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 2-8 pm
