Mark W. Pharris October 31,1951 – May 6, 2010 Graveside services will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at 2 pm at Shafter Memorial Park for Mark Wayne Pharris, age 58, who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 6, 2010. Mark was born October 31, 1951 in San Pedro, CA to Gilbert F. and Cornelia E. Pharris. Mark joined the US Air force in 1969. He was stationed in Anchorage, AK where he met the love of his life, Judith E. Shear. They were married August 7, 1971. They moved to Kern County in 1972 where he made his career as a beekeeper for the next 30 years. He and Judy retired in 2002 in Bakersfield. Mark enjoyed fishing, golfing, his season tickets to the Condors, and all things family. Much like his father, he was loved by all who knew him. Mark is survived by his soulmate of 38 years Judy; daughters, Keri Pharris Perdue and husband Lorin of Bakersfield and Melanie Romo and husband Ivan of Point Mugu; 5 grandchildren, Christian and Camryn Perdue and Ashlynn, Emma, and Madelynn Romo. Mark was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother and two sisters, Mindy Riggs of Shafter and Gail Cooper and husband Rudy of Moorpark.
