Obituary for Marjorie Ellen Albright

Marge Albright passed away peacefully on January 1, 2015 at the age of 87. She rang in the New Year with a new residence in heaven. Born in Portland, Oregon to O.T. and Norma Olson, the family moved to Shafter when she was an infant. Marge graduated from Shafter High School as class valedictorian in 1945. Following graduation, she attended Oregon State University and received her degree in Home Economics in 1949. Upon graduation she married her high school beau, Jim Albright. They were married… for 65 years. Marge's early married life centered around their 3 daughters, life on the farm, and numerous church and volunteer activities, including Women's Fellowship, Ladies Bible Study, PTA, Campfire Girls, Shafter High School Class of '45 Reunion Committee, and the Shafter Historical Society. As grandchildren came along, she became known as "Mimi" to them and spent time enjoying their musical performances and sporting events. Her interests also included gardening and traveling. She truly had a servant's heart and was a "Proverbs 31 Woman" to her family.
Marge is preceded in death by her daughter Claire Wallace, parents and brother, Merwin Olson. She is survived by her husband, Jim, daughter Kathy Enns and husband Mike, daughter Kris Briney and husband Rob and son-in-law Scott Wallace; grandchildren, Ellie Fischer, Patrick, Micah and Stefan Briney and great- grandchildren Romay Peters and Lawrence Briney.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Carrington of Shafter for their loving care of Marge for the past 2 years.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, January 7 at 11:00 am at the Congregational Bible Church, 430 Tulare Ave, Shafter, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm at the Shafter Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Shafter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marge's name to the Congregational Bible Church of Shafter.
