Obituary

Services will be held at Valley Bible Church in Shafter, Thursday September 17, 2015 at 10 am. Viewing will be held at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, Wednesday September 16, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. Kent Wood went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2015 at the age of 55. Kent was survived by his wife Debra Stockton and his 3 children Andrew, Anna and Alex Wood. He was the youngest of 4 brothers and 1 sister; brothers, Herb Lee Wood, Danny Leon Wood (Deborah), Carl Ray Wood, Ricky Lynn Wood(Debra); sister, Jane Cupps ( Michael). He had numerous nieces and nephews. Previous wives; Beth Wood and Lynne Wood. His memories included living in Shafter and attending the local schools and Valley Bible Church with his children and helping with the Awana Program. He enjoyed bass fishing, golf, pool and the outdoors; he was a member of the Shafter, Wasco and Taft bass Clubs. He enjoyed Nascar races, Indy Car Racing, Dodgers and Rams, and went to as many events as possible. There was always time for fishing or golf. He had endless patience and was great at teaching others how to golf or fish. Kent wanted to see everyone have a good time and enjoyed spending time around his friends and family. Kent had many friends and touched many hearts. He had an infectious, lengthy laugh and enjoyed life. Before his early retirement he worked for Pactiv Corp for 31 years where he made lifelong friends. We all love and miss him, good bye dear friend……
