Louis Millard Hughes passed away peacefully in Bakersfield, California on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the age of 91.
Lou is survived by his wife and love of his life, Janet Manning Hughes of Bakersfield, California as well as many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Millard and Helena Hughes.
Lou was born on July 22, 1927 in Calistoga, California. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of VFW Post 10859. He enjoyed golf, working on clocks and RV-ing.
A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 3 at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Funeral Directors from 5-7pm. There will be a graveside service at Shafter Memorial Park on Thursday, October 4 at 2pm. Condolences may be sent to Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara or donations may be made to VFW 10859 in the name of Lou Hughes.
