Obituary

Cristina was born December 4, 1948 in Acambaro, Guanajuato Mexico to parents Jose Refugio Efren Monroy and Maria Luisa Sanchez. Cristina was a devout Catholic woman, who was dedicated to praying the Holy Rosary daily. She spent her time in church reflecting during the Santisimo and was part of the Adoracion Nocturna. Cristina’s favorite time was spending several hours sewing, crocheting and knitting for everyone she knew. Folkloric dancing brought her much joy even though she could not participate in the dancing herself. Cristina appreciated being able to help those in need, even though she was ill. Cristina loved and adored her family, who she would do anything for. Cristina was 68 years old when she walked home to her Lord. She was surrounded by her beloved family. Cristina is survived by her children: Edlin Mora- Monroy, Serafin Mora- Monroy and wife Edith, Cristina Citalan and husband Raul, Mario Mora- Monroy and wife Ana; brother, Paulino Arnulfo Monroy- Sanchez; sister, Rosa Maria Carrillo- Monroy; 13 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Serafin Mora; parents, Jose Refugio Efren Monroy and Maria Luisa Sanchez; sister, Martha Juana Monroy- Sanchez.
A Mass of a Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10am at St. Therese Catholic Church. A viewing was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 5-8pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter, CA.
Cristina nació el 04 de diciembre de 1948 en Acambaro, Guanajuato México a padres José Refugio Efren Monroy y Maria Luisa Sanchez. Cristina era una mujer católica devota, que se dedicó a rezar el Santo Rosario todos los días. Ella pasó su tiempo en la iglesia reflejando durante el Santisimo y era parte de la Adoracion Nocturna. Cristina pasaba varias horas de costura, ganchillo y punto para todos los que ella amaba. Danzas folclóricas trajeron mucha alegría a pesar de que ella no pudo participar en la danza misma. Cristina apreciaba ayudar a los necesitados, a pesar de que ella estaba enferma. Cristina amaba y adoraba a su familia, ella hacia cualquier cosa por ellos. Cristina tenía 68 años cuando tomo el camino hacia nuestro Señor. Ella fue rodeada por su familia amada.
Cristina es sobrevivida por sus hijos: Edlin Mora Monroy, Serafín Mora Monroy y esposa Edith, Cristina Citalan y su esposo Raúl, Mario Mora - Monroy y esposa Ana; hermano, Paulino Arnulfo Monroy Sánchez; hermana, Rosa Maria Carrillo - Monroy; 13 nietos y 4 bisnietos. Ella es precedida en la muerte por su marido, Serafín Mora; padres, José Refugio Efren Monroy y Maria Luisa Sanchez; hermana, Martha Juana Monroy- Sanchez.
Una Misa de un entierro cristiano fue miercoles, 04 de enero de 2017 a las 10an en la iglesia católica St. Therese. Una visita fue martes, 03 de enero de 2017 de 5-8 pm con una recitación del Santo Rosario a las 7pm en la casa funeraria Peters en Shafter, CA.
