Our beloved Wonder Woman, Raquel "Rachel Soto Acosta, 46, passed away on Thursday, September 7th, 2023 at Hoffman Hospice in Bakersfield, California. She was born on September 18, 1976 and was raised by her parents, Edberto G Ronquillo and Raquel Soto Ronquillo.
Rachel grew up in Kern County and after graduating from High School she went on to earn her degree from San Joaquin Valley College. Rachel worked in several administrative positions and went on to earn a Commercial Drivers' License transporting adults with developmental disabilities for many years.
Rachel was a proud member of Lifehouse Church in Bakersfield, CA. She enjoyed church events and watching online services when her health would not permit her to attend in person. Rachel loved to watch movies, especially DC movies that included Wonder Woman of which she might have had a slight obsession with at times, well, most of the time! After all she was our Wonder Woman. Rachel was the most positive, vibrant woman of God and nothing could contain that bright smile of hers. She was always so happy and welcoming to others always ready to lend a helping hand without asking for anything in return.
Rachel is survived by her mother, Raquel Soto Ronquillo; son, Jose Ricardo Garcia Jr; daughters, Priscilla Marie Garcia, Annalisa Garcia, Vanessa Figueroa, Daliah Martin, & Delilah Martin; sisters, Katie Soto Mendoza, Anita Soto-Ronquillo Moreno and husband Eliseo Moreno; g-babies, Aliyandra "Ali' Lizeth Contreras, Jocelyn Raquel Contreras, Camila Amadore Maravilla, & Melody Lior Maravilla; nieces, Isabel Mendoza Quintero, Angelica Mendoza Quintero, nephews,
Alfonso Mendoza Quintero, & Abel Mendoza Quintero.
Rachel was preceded in death by her father, Edberto G. Ronquillo.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lifehouse Church 3311 Manor Street in Bakersfield at 11 am on Monday, September 25th 2023. A visitation will be held at Basham Funeral Care 343 State
Ave Shafter CA 93263 at 4pm on Sunday, September 24th 2023. Burial will follow the Celebration of Life at the Shafter Cemetery.
