Obituary for Wayne Allen Braisher

Wayne Allen Braisher was born in Hinton, Oklahoma on November 3, 1932 to Eva and Virgil James Braisher. He attended Shafter High and then joined the Army in 1951 where her served his country proudly in Korea. Wayne earned two bronze service stars along with his National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. Wayne worked for ExxonMobil for many years before his retirement. Wayne was a resident of Shafter and Bakersfield for many years, in the late 90’s he moved to Alaska… to be with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He lived for fishing, moving to Alaska enabled him to catch some of the biggest fish of his life, he often said that moving to Alaska was on the best decisions he made in his life. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite sports teams the LA Dodgers, Lakers and Redskins. He passed away peacefully at his home in Anchorage, Alaska on October 8.
He is survived by his sister Marie Byers; brother Shelby Williams ; aunt Grace Oda McAllister; sons Greg Braisher and Scott Braisher; daughter Kelly Braisher Manning and husband David; step-daughter Dee Dee Lewis Sparks; grandchildren Kathy, Annia, Misty, Corey, Kylee; great grandchildren Maddi, Tyler, Jordan, Adrian, Justin, Connor, Alexia, Grace, Jayden, and Dallas. Wayne is preceded in death by his father Virgil J Braisher; mother Eva Braisher Caron; brother Hurshell E Braisher; sister Jeanie Braisher; brother James Williams; sister Cathy Triply; mother of children (Wanda) Sue Wood; late wife LaVonne Lewis
A Graveside Service will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Friday October 28, 2016 at 2pm in Shafter, California.
