Obituary

Joe Rosales Rodriguez, Jr. was born January 28, 1953 in Wasco, California to Sabina (Rosales) and Joe Avila Rodriguez. He attended Maple School and Shafter High School. He worked for various employers in agriculture; and was a good mechanic and handyman. He loved poker, going to the card room. He also liked going out to eat, especially at Country Boy. Joe was a sports fan and always enjoyed watching his favorite teams, the Yankees and Steelers; he also enjoyed wrestling and the WWE. He was also a fan of old time TV shows like The Three Stooges, and old westerns. Joe was outgoing, social and loved to laugh and sing; his favorite song to sing around the house was, “My Love for You.” He was generous, very giving and dependable; he just had a big heart. He had many friends and was especially close to his sis, Annie.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Sabina Rodriguez; great nephews, Joshua Perez and Christopher Lopez. He is survived by his father, Joe A. Rodriguez; brothers, Carlos Rodriguez and wife Lorraine, and Frank Rodriguez and wife Beatrice; sisters, Annie Rodriguez and Phyllis and husband Mike Lopez; nieces and nephews, Denise Perez, Michelle Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, Jr., Teresa Rodriguez, Jacob Lopez, and Lee Michael Lopez; and 12 great nieces and nephews.
Holy Rosary will be recited Monday, May 7 beginning at 6pm at Peters Funeral Home for Joe Rosales Rodriguez, Jr. age 59, who passed away May 3, 2012 at his home in Shafter. Mass of the Christian Burial will be said Tuesday, May 8 at 10am at St. Therese’s Catholic Church followed by interment at Shafter Memorial Park. Fr. Pedro Umana will officiate the services. Visitation will be held Monday, May 7 from 2-8pm at Peters Funeral Home.
