Obituary

Louise Patterson 26435955

Louise Spears Patterson was born in Hervey, Arkansas, on June 21, 1929, to parents Hugh & Armittee Spears. Her early life was spent living on the family farm along with her twelve siblings. She had many fond memories of riding to church and town in their horse-drawn wagon.

Louise & Junior Patterson were married December 7, 1946 in Hempstead, Arkansas. They moved their family to Shafter in 1950, where they both sought work on local farms. Over the years, they had six children.

In 1962, they purchased their own farm adjacent to the Shafter Cemetery - they raised cotton and, eventually, an almond orchard.

Louise liked to farm and garden and enjoyed looking at her beautiful flowers. She loved to listen to country and old-time gospel music. She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to play Skip-Bo and dominoes and take trips to the casinos. She loved being surrounded by her big, beautiful family.

Louise passed away on November 17, 2022. Louise is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years; her twelve siblings; her daughter Nelda Patrick; her grandaughters Carol Smith & Stacy Estrada; her grandson Joshua Scoggins; and great-grandson Jeffrey Guenther.

She is survived by her children Kathryn Oshel, Jackie Melville, Bobby (Brenda) Patterson, Roger (Machalle) Patterson, Melinda (Ronald) Cash; her grandchildren Heath Scoggins, Cari Josue, Bobby Patterson, Jr., Penny Arviso, Jason Patterson, Roger Patterson, Jr., Brandon Patterson, Tiffany Cash, Amy Cash, Ashley Cash, and Christa Cash; and 19 great-grandchildren.
