Obituary for Dolores L. Azevedo
Dolores Lucy Azevedo passed away on the morning of September 3, 2012 in Shafter, California. Dolores was born in Salinas, California on December 17, 1947 to Lucas and Frances Perez(Lopez). Dolores was raised in Castroville until moving to Prundale in 1958. Then in 1969, she moved to Shafter with her husband, Edward Rosales and two daughters, Vickie Marie and Tina Marie to raise her family and the family continues to grow. Tragedy struck Dolores and her family in 1994 with the death of her daughter… Tina Marie Rosales. The following year, Dolores opened up a new chapter in her life, marrying John “Jack” Azevedo in April 1995. Their loving union ended in October 1997 when Jack passed away. Dolores last worked for six years for the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at North Kern State Prison in Delano as a Case Records Tech/Operator. Dolores was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Dolores is preceded in death by her father, Lucas Perez; daughter, Tina Marie Rosales; husband, John “Jack” Azevedo; sister, Mary (Alice) Perez; and brother, Joe Thomas Perez. Dolores is survived by her daughter, Vickie Marie Garza; grandchildren; Edward Caudillo, Richard Caudillo, and LeAudra Garza; and great grandson, Isaiah Caudillo; mother, Frances Lopez Perez; brothers; Arnold, Roy, Greg, and William Perez; sisters; Esther Garcia, Theresa Valdez, Irma Sandoval, Emily Rosales, Patricia De la Rosa, Pauline Ramirez, and Christine Perez-Casareno; as well as many other numerous family members and friends.
A visitation for Dolores will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 4-8p.m. at Peters Funeral Home Chapel in Shafter with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated the following morning, Friday, September 7, 2012 at 10a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church in Shafter. The mass will be led by Dolores’s uncle, Msgr. Daniel Lopez from the Monterey, CA Diocese. Interment will follow at Shafter Memorial Park.
