Obituary for Clementine Montes Vazquez

Clementine Montes Vazquez was born in Reedley, California on October 16, 1936 to parents Jose Montes and Concepcion (Acosta) Montes. Clementine met Pastor and married Pastor Pete Vazquez. Together they raised their two children in Shafter. Clementine was a devoted Catholic who participated in church activities every opportunity she got. She was a member of the church group The Guadalupanas Society. She enjoyed spending her time singing and performing in the local theatre. Her favorite production… was the King and I. Aside from her love for the Lord; she loved the children she worked with in the migrant program at school. She made sure they were taken care of and habitually took them to dental appointments. Clementine loved her family, friends, and cat. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Clementine is survived by her two sons; Mark Vazquez, Greg Vazquez and wife Magdalena Vazquez; grandchildren, Angela Meriquez Vazquez, Olivia Davison, Ruben Vazquez, David Vazquez, Laura Vazquez, Connie Mendoza, Amanda Pacheco, Maryann Vazquez, Anthony Vazquez; Great- grandchildren, Jocelynn, Anthony II , Eric, Lilly, Logan, Kaleb, R.J., Catlyn, Reyan, Aaron, Tony, April, Joseph, McKenzie; sister, Sylvia Lopez. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pastor Pete Vazquez; sisters, Rachel Barba, Adela Ibaniez.
A mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 10am at St. Therese Catholic Church. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 5-7pm at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30pm.
