Obituary for Graciela G. Sanchez

Graciela was born to parents Refugio Gamboa and Julia Talavera in Laguna Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico on December 19, 1940. Graciela was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Graciela and her husband, Eloy moved to Shafter in 1978 where Graciela began working in the roses. She was a committed employee at Jackson and Perkins for 17 years. After working for many years, Graciela retired and cherished her time at home. She loved making food for her family. Her specialty dishes were flour… tortillas and tamales, which were always served warm. Graciela spent many hours making her famous mole tamales every Christmas. She would often catch the bus in Shafter to Bakersfield and enjoy some shopping at her favorite department store, Macys. Graciela had many admirable traits, one of which was knitting blankets for all her grandchildren and pillows for all her great grandchildren. Graciela entered eternal life on December 3, 2017. She will be missed by all who love her.

Graciela is survived by her sons, Rodrigo Sanchez (Leticia) , Miguel Sanchez (Mireya), Jose Sanchez (Yolanda), Gabriel Sanchez (Lupita); daughters, Gloria Sanchez (Jose), Tany Sanchez, Veronica Sanchez (Khamphou), Elizabeth Medina (Ramon), Cristina Rodriguez (Ramiro); 29 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eloy Sanchez; son, Juan Manuel Sanchez.

A Mass of a Christian Burial was held Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10am at St. Therese Catholic Church. A visitation was held December 6, 2017 from 4-8pm at Peters Funeral Home in Shafter with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm.
