Sarah Palomo Carrasco
August 8, 1923 - November 23, 2018

Sarah Palomo Carrasco slipped away peacefully with her daughter at her side on November 23, 2018 at Hoffman Hospice Hospital.

Sarah was born on August 8, 1923 in Bakersfield and was a life long resident of Kern County. She attended school in Shafter, and graduated from Shafter High School in 1941. She married her late husband Felix Carrasco in October 1947 and raised her family in Shafter until 1973 when Felix and Sarah moved to Bakersfield.

Sarah was a faithful Catholic and helped with the establishment of 2 new parishes, St. Therese in Shafter and St. Philip the Apostle in Bakersfield. Sarah worked in the Kern County Court System and retired after 30 years of service as the Head of Traffic Division.

Sarah was a loyal and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and found joy in living simply and faithfully among loved ones. She believed in doing things right and was blessed with a long and honorable life.

Sarah is survived by her daughter Carolyn Carrasco of Bakersfield, her son Ken Carrasco and wife Marika of Sherman Oaks; her grandchildren Tristan Wieser of Bakersfield, Sandor Carrasco of El Centro, Krisz Carrasco of Portland, OR, and Kriszta Carrasco of Sherman Oaks, Sal Palomo of Walnut Creek, Ofelia Martinez of Bakersfield, Arthur Palomo of Bakersfield, Alfred Palomo of Grover Beach, Carmen Beadle of Bakersfield, Phyllis Nunez of Bakersfield, and Irene Bojon of Walnut Creek.

Rosary and a funeral mass will be held at 10:00am, Monday, December 3, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with burial at Shafter Cemetery.
