Benito GuerreroBenito Guerrero was born August 13, 1981 in Wasco, California to Baldemar & Aurora (Castaneda) Guerrero. He grew up in Wasco attending Wasco elementary schools and graduated from Wasco Union High School with the Class of 1999. He went on to attend Bakersfield College before working for his father at Starrh & Starrh Farms. For the last five years Benito has been employed as a supervisor at JD Rush in the Trimax division. Benito devoted his life to his church, La Rosa De Saron, and served in many capacities including, youth president from 2003-2006, treasurer from 2004-2006, deacon from 2002 to the present, Sunday school teacher from 2001 to the present and was currently the Royal Rangers Commander. He was dedicated, hardworking and friendly. Benito cared for people, especially the youth of his church.
He is survived by his parents, Baldemar & Aurora Guerrero of Wasco; brother, Baldemar, Jr. of Shafter; sisters, Janey Esparza & husband Jose of Wasco, Mayra Martinez & husband Nasario of Shafter; grandparents, Benito and Aurora Castaneda and Gregoria Guzman, all of Texas; 7 nieces, Janelle, Anaissa, Jasmine, Jennifer, Ayadelin, Jacqueline, Mayrita; and many other loving family members including uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
An evening service was held on Thursday, April 26th, at 7pm at the Westside Family Fellowship, 2150 Palm Ave, Wasco. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 27th, at 11am at La Rosa De Saron, 154 W. Tulare, Shafter, CA followed by graveside committal at Shafter Memorial Park. Pastor Epifanio Bernal officiated the services. A visitation was held at Peters Funeral Home, Shafter, on Wednesday, April 25 from 5 – 8pm and Thursday, April 26 from 2 – 5pm. Donations may be made to a memorial fund in Benito’s name at La Rosa De Saron.
