Obituary for Victor Daniel Richert

Victor Daniel Richert
August 4, 1927 – May 5, 2017

Vic was born in Los Angeles to John and Justina Richert.

He is survived by Geraldine, his wife of 67 years; and his children, Mark (Cindy) Richert, Linda (Alan) Fox, Lisa (Tom) Scovill, Todd (Christine) Richert; his grandchildren, Marshall (Melissa), Nolan, Adam (Vanessa), Hunter, Jordan, Troy, Nate, and Carter; and his great-grandchildren, Ellie, Sam, and Max. He is also survived by his brother, Donald, and his sister, Catherine.

Vic proudly served in WWII with the Water Service Company of the 1584th Engineers, U.S. Army in the Aleutians.

He worked as an appliance repairman at Urner's before beginning life as a farmer, then as a Systems Operator with the Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District.

Victor was a vital member of Rosedale Mennonite Brethren Church, now Rosedale Bible Church, acting at various times as a Sunday school teacher, a youth leader, choir director and custodian.

Vic loved to spend time with his family and was the instigator of many hilarious misdeeds with his children and grandchildren. Mostly, though, Victor loved being with Geri, either on the road on some adventure or by her side at home.

A memorial service will be held at Rosedale Bible Church at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 13.
