Obituary

Arthur “Joe” Ramirez, left our sight suddenly on Sunday, May 8, 2011, but he will remain in our hearts forever; youngest son of Yolanda (Arenivaz) and Arthur Ramirez, born in Tulare County on October 18, 1971. Joe was a 1990 graduate of Woodlake High School in Woodlake California; later he attended the College of the Sequoia’s; which is where he met Ms. Anabel Dominguez. They started their family in 2004 and had three beautiful children. After settling in Shafter he was a auto sales representative with Holiday Ford then became a member of Richland Chevrolet Team. Joe was born with an artistic talent; he loved to draw Hispanic cultural paintings using paints, charcoal and crayon mediums and carved stones; enjoyed listening to oldies, jazz and blues music. He easily sparked up a conversation with anyone about anything. In the evenings he would challenge himself by watching Jeopardy and yell out the answers as quick as the players, if not sooner. Joe was unique and had an old soul, he didn’t own anything technical, was drawn to the 1940’s and 50’s era, he was simple and didn’t even care to own a cell phone. He was an avid Raider fan who loved to be with his family; a loving father and provider who left us too soon.
Joe Ramirez is preceded in death by his father Arthur. Ramirez (1981) and is survived by his loving companion of 14 years Anabel Dominguez; mother Yolanda Ramirez; children Matthew J., Maximiliano G. and Abbigael M Ramirez; brother Nicholas Ramirez; grandmother Gertrude G. Ramirez; a loving extended family and numerous friends and acquaintances, whom he all treasured in his heart.
Father Umana will officiate a 10am Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, May 13, 2011 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church with interment immediately following at Shafter Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 12th from 2 to 6:30pm at Peters Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7pm at St. Therese’s Church.
