Mark Anthony Moralez

Mark Anthony Moralez, a loving father, son, brother, uncle and grandson, passed away on February 25, 2021 at the age of 42 in Bakersfield, CA. He was born in Bakersfield, CA on April 16, 1978 to parents, Frank and Julie Moralez, he was the only son of two children. He lived in Bakersfield most of his life.
Mark attended Sandrini Elementary, Thompson Jr. High and graduated from Foothill High School in 1996. He excelled in sports, especially cross country and track. He traveled across California participating in different meets, including the Junior Olympics and Nationals. Later in life, he worked as a warehouse forklift operator and was in this field for many years.
He was a talented, witty, generous and caring person who would do anything for anyone; he had the gift of gab just like his Tia Mary Martinez. His smile and personality would light up a room. He was able to talk to strangers and make friends easily. He was a great listener and always someone you could lean on.
His life was fulfilled when his 3 year-old twins, Soleia and Luke, were born. They meant the world to him. There wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for them. From putting a Peppa Pig band aide on their owie to playing hide and seek or catch in the backyard with them, they brought him so much happiness and they will miss their Daddy tremendously.
Mark loved working with his hands. He inherited this gift from his Papa and he used that skill to help his parents maintain their house. He was always working on projects around their house or tinkering around. You would usually find him painting, sanding or building something. He would tell his parents that he was grateful for their help with his babies and it was his way of showing his gratitude. Most recently, he completed building a playhouse, a seesaw and racing buckets for his twins. Mark loved to BBQ, he was also known for his famous bacon jalapeno poppers. He loved traveling with his family. The most memorable trips were to the Florida and California theme parks, where he always managed to convince his sister, Lisa, to ride on the biggest coasters even though she was terrified of heights. The many camping trips to Sequoia and the beach will never be forgotten.
Mark was a proud Uncle to his only nephew, Derek. He loved playing around and teasing him. He was so proud to coach him one season for cross country and he beamed when Derek ran his first race, it was like he passed the torch to him. He was very proud of his nephew and always let him know it.
Our hearts are broken as he was taken from us way too soon. He had so much more to accomplish on this earth, so many dreams left unfulfilled. We will always cherish our time together and we will meet again. We know he is with our Lord looking down on us. We Love You Mark.
Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Frank and Julie Moralez, his children Francisco “Luke” Moralez & Soleia Moralez, sister and brother in law, Lisa and Eddie Castillo, nephew, Derek Arias, grandmother, Sandy Swarts and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Waiting his arrival in Heaven is his grandfather “Papa” Tony P. Dominguez, grandmother, Ruth R. Dominguez, paternal grandfather, Francisco Moralez, Uncle Rudy Dominguez, Uncle Pete Saldana, grandfather, Jim Swarts, Tio Rojelio Martinez, Uncle Joe Moralez and his Nino, Dr. Ruben P. Diaz.
