Maria De Jesus was born and blessed this world with her presence on November 24, 1956 to Epifanio and Juliana Llanas in Harlingen, Texas. They moved to Shafter, California in 1969. She has 5 strong brothers, Epifanio, Jose, Geronimo, Ricardo, and Manuel Llanas. She also had 2 loving sisters, Irma Benitez and Rosalinda Ybarra. They grew up working the fields and progressing through the years for a better life.
She graduated from Shafter High School in 1975. Little did she know that during her high school years, she would meet her future husband, Francisco “Frank” Rodriguez Jr. Her beautiful long black hair and radiant smile that would light up the world, captivated his attention but it was her feistiness, laugh and their conversations that would capture his heart. She would marry Frank on April 16, 1977 at Saint Theresa’s Church in Shafter, California. They enjoyed their honeymoon at a place that would later become a historic destination to our family, Disneyland. She would be blessed with her first-born son, Francisco Rodriguez III in 1980. Maria would then be truly blessed when she gave birth to her second son, Albert Rodriguez in 1984. In 1986, She was blessed with her third son, Roberto Rodriguez. In 1991, She was double blessed with twin sons, Martin Rodriguez and Victor Rodriguez. Totaling 5 loving sons who at times would drive her crazy but was always proud of what they accomplished in their lives. She worked at First Community Bank in Shafter for some years before she returned back to the family business. She worked for over 40 years for Llanas Eppie Camp which is now known as G&M Properties, LLC. She enjoyed her job, visiting a casino from time to time and discussing politics. She liked all genres of music and loved musicals. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially family vacations to Disneyland which we all grew to love. She dedicated her life to taking care of as many people as she could and loving her family unconditionally, but above all she served the Lord our God first. She was a devoted Catholic, loved going to church and lived her life by God’s Word. She knew through God anything was possible and shared that with anyone she spoke to and met.
Maria will be remembered forever by all her loving family and friends; her loving husband of 43 years, Frank, her 5 brothers- Eppie, Joe, Jerry, Rick and Manuel, her 2 sisters- Irm and Rose, her 5 sons -Frankie, Albie, Robs, Mart, and Vickie who will miss and love her unconditionally. She will always be remembered by her loving daughter in laws and her 11 grandchildren that she loved and always loved spending time with. She has reunited with her mom Juliana, dad Epifanio, family and friends in Heaven where she is resting and watching over all of us until we reunite again.
